Summary0002666: Connector Syncs only blocks of 28 contacts (or alike)
Description

We are trying to sync with Zimbra 8.0.3
We verified the CardDAV-information sent by the Zimbra server with a KDE 'Remote DAV Addressbook' and by checking the vcf file manually: Both ways, we have 323 contacts, at the moment.

The TB Sogo connector syncs only the first 28 contacts (or alike). Changing a contact within Zimbra urges the connector to sync another 28 contacts, so we have 56 in sync. This can be repeated, until all 323 contacts are sync'd, but the procedure must be done again for each and every new Sogo connector installation.

This renders the connector to become completely useless.

Steps To Reproduce
  • Use a Zimbra Server (we have v.8.0.3)

  • Install the Sogo connector on TB (we use 24.3.0)

  • Configure a remote address book as DAV-connection to Zimbra,
    with an URL like https://zimbra.server.org/dav/zimbrausername/AddressBook/

  • Synchronize (about 28 contacts are sync'd)

  • Change a random contact on the Zimbra Server (from within the Zimbra Web Client)

  • Synchronize again (another 28 contacts are sync'd (i.e. added to the remote address book))

  • Change another random contact in Zimbra

  • Sync again (another 28...)

  • Repeat the 2 steps until all contacts are sync'd

  • Start the same procedure with then next TB client...

I am also seeing this bug (I reported 0002956) - is there anything we can do to help debug? I can send wireshark capture streams, etc, if required.

Same Issue on:

  • SOGo Connector 31.01
  • Ubuntu 14.10
  • Thunderbird 31.40
  • Zimbra 8.60 (mailbackend, using the carddav interface)
after first Time synchronizing: reports 270 contacts downloaded, but only 30 are realy imported
after that every sync reports: "No Changes"
the 30 imported contacts are OK, also images are synchronized, thats nice!
(the reported 270 is exactly the number of expected contacts)

I like to help you with debugging.

After changing a random contact in Zimbra, and syncing again, about 20-30 new contacts are imported.
Did the fake modify to 1 contact and do a sync.
I had to repeat this about 10 times
Now all my contacts are in sync :-D
which people with 1000+ Zmbra-contacts much luck with this ;)

I have 3000 contact on my biggest address book. >:(
I can quietly sync 28 by 28 but I can't do it for dozens of users.
is there an import/export solution ?

Is this bug only related to ZIMBRA ?
if so, is this bug a "zimbra" responsability ?

Having the same issue.
According to Zimbra's access log all contacts are sent to the client.
Also, SoGo reports correct number of contacts as synchronized, even though only 20-30 are actually imported.

If you have this problems and several servers of Zimbra (e.g. mailbox and gateway) then check your log files on mailbox server. If you will find next records:
zmmailboxd.out: .... WARN:oejs.DoSFilter:qtp509123423-192169:https://10.10.10.10:7443/ .... DOS ALERT: Request rejected ip=10.10.10.9,session=null,user=test

then you can try fix this problems:

Had same issue, problem was caused by Zimbra DOSfilter as grincha wrote. After reconfiguration of filter is synchronized whole folder at once.
