Summary0002527: When searching for calendars to subscribe, only users and their calendars with more than "DateAndTime" visible should show up
Description

In the web interface, it's not possible to view a list of only those users in my organisation who have at least one public calendar.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Click "Subscribe to a calendar"
  2. Enter *@mycompany.com and press return

Expected result: list of only those users with at least one calendar I can subscribe to

Actual result: some users have a + sign next to them, clicking which reveals a node for "No possible subscription"

This depends on your default settings.

In our case everyone has always "DateAndTime" privileges.
This is set in order to use invites with free/busy information.
Your search will give you all users (approx. 15000 in our case) and everyone with a valid calendar to subscribe to ;-)

So in our case not very useful.

@Christian
This is true only if everyone's calendar is set to be Shared with everyone else at the Company by default. Surely that is not the case?

Or maybe I'm mis-reading - the OP I think is asking to see only those calendars that have explicitly been shared with him...

I am asking for the list returned to not contain useless entries.

My point is that if the search results include a node for bob@example.com, then expanding that node had better show me at least one calendar which I have permission to view.

Currently, I can expand a node and be told "no possible subscription". I don't want to see a node for such users at all, as it is not useful to me.

@tanstaafl
In order to have free/busy information when inviting other people, you need "DateAndTime" privileges on their calendars.
Because of this we have these set per default.

Ah... so, then, Calendars with only these perms should be excluded from the results when intentionally looking for subscribable calendars/address books?

Sounds like that's the answer.

@dtn

Cool, then I suggest changing the Bug Summary to reflect this...

I cannot see any way for me to edit the Bug Summary.

You need some additional privileges in the bugtracker to do so.
Just changed the subject ;-)
