Description

It would be really nice to have the SOGo Connector to auto discover the available address books and make them selectable in a list for configuration.

Giving a simple https://sogo.example.com (or even https://sogo.example.com/SOGo if redirections aren't supported) should suffice, then ask user credentials and the connector would auto-discover the available address books.

Setting a CardDAV addressbook on an iPhone or on an Android (at least using CardDAV-Sync) auto-discovers everything very smoothly. It would be nice to have that on the connector too.

I've set up a SOGo in a small working environment of 7 people and everyone shared their calendars and addressbooks. This was a real pain to configure every Thunderbird + Connector in this case (copy/paste URLs from SOGo Web GUI). Conversly, it was a delight to configure the same thing on their Android/iPhone smartphones with their auto-discovery feature!

Is this planned in some way?

PS: The same problem exists for calendars but I have to bug the Lightning people on that matter :-)

If you use Integrator, you get that already.
But this only works with SOGo, not other CardDAV servers.

Why limit this to just Address Books? Why not both Address Books and Calendars?

I'm willing to add another feature request for the Calendars, but I think this feature request should be modified to address both, since they are closely related...

This report is only for address books, because Connector only supports address books. It has nothing to do with calendars.

Integrator needs modification before being used unlike Connector which works out the box.

Also, Integrator have some cumbersome limitations like being tided to the FIRST account in Thunderbird :-( Fortunately there is a workaround but we're back to square one : Integrator needs modification before being used!
