Summary0003251: From field defaults (alias)
Description

Some users are using their alias email addresses as their main address but the web interface does not allow the choice of a default email address.

The SOGo source that I have is LDAP and from the IMAP Accounts preferences it looks like the email address is editable but it doesn't save.

Also, it would be nice if an email had been sent to the alias email address, that replying to the email would default to the alias in the from field.

In preferences you only can add additional email addresses, not the ones already there.
So you always have to choose when sending an email from the provided from list.

You could set SOGoMailCustomFromEnabled to "YES".

See https://github.com/inverse-inc/sogo/blob/master/Documentation/SOGoInstallationGuide.asciidoc#L2064

Hello Francis

We have this set.
But you then can only set additional email addresses, not one of those coming from your auth source, e.g one of multiple mail fields in LDAP for that account.

This feature request was for setting default email addresses when composing new emails.

Main email: test@domain.com
Alias 1: sales@domain.com
Alias 2: support@domain.com

If a default email address is set to sales@domain.com, all new email compositions will default to the from address of sales@domain.com

Currently, in the IMAP accounts tab of the preferences, any changes to the "Email" field does not stick.

Also, if an email is directed at support@domain.com, replying to that email should show support@domain.com as the from address.
