|0005031||SOGo Connector||with SOGo||public||2020-05-20 07:28||2020-09-28 05:04|
|Platform||All OSes (Thunderbird)|
|Summary||0005031: MZLA Thunderbird 78+ Breaks SOGo Connector (68+)|
The new Version of Thunderbird (78) will break the new SOGo Connector (Tested on Beta 77).
All Custom Sogo overlays, buttons and the carddav feature are lost.
Because the new release is set to appear in June 2020 i think you should start doing something about that. I can see no commits or branches on github till today. I would happily try out some Beta/nightly versions of this plugin. We are in the middle of transitioning to a new setup with the SOGo plugin, which would be very bad if we wont see an update to this plugin and have to roll back.
In Addition the required Addon-Format changes, with the final release so....
|Steps To Reproduce|
Install latest Beta or Fast-Release, install (preconfigured) SOGo Connector 68+

Version 78 is now final - plugin stopped working as expected.
No Comment here so far, is this section dead?
We will work on this very soon.
Very good to hear that!
As I said - I will happily try nightly and or beta versions...
We'll update this ticket as we go, thanks!
Hi , the SOGo Connector is not more required as i might.
Does internal function and cardbook provide same integration of Sogo Server?? Sogo module provides search box for avalaible calendars and address books in TB...
No, CARDBook only provides calDAV/cardDAV access.
For current state (== beta) also see this thread on the mailinglist:
First of all, the Connector is now merged with the integrator
The only thing that comes a bit close to the functionality is TB-Sync which doesn't allow tho create/edit calendars and address books inside Thunderbird.
I hope that the lists will be back in the final version - we only got this features (without sketchy workarounds with categories) finally by moving to the SOGo plugin and we very much need this feature. Can we provide help in some way?
This integration is the reason why I am expecting the final version too...
Nevertheless : "The Plugin completely mirrors the subscribed calendars / address books and config from the Webinterface." Thats what i expected when I am arrive in my company, but at the moment, I only have these features when creating manuallu calendars and addresses books in TB.
Help is pretty small about this, like wiki... If need help to update or complete... (if the right running was know for me...)
This aside yes, a lot ow work is missing in documentation and finetuning for the plugin as well as some broken stuff on TB's side. Maybe by working directly with MZLA https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=546932, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1665230 on some stuff could help bringing this setup (and opensource groupware as a whole) forward. The SOGo setup we now have with TB68 is the closest we ever got to Outlook+Exchange
