Summary | 0001876: MODIFICATION_FAILED in thunderbird
Description | lsb_release -a dpkg -l sogo | grep sogo
Description: For some reasons, the thunderbird calendar today showed an error "MODIFICATION_FAILED" The following is the text that was shown, when clicking on details in the error dialog box: Status-Code: 502, Fehlerhafter Gateway (Proxy-Konfiguration?). <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> And this was shown in error.log of the Apache server: [Sat Jul 14 19:40:07 2012] [notice] Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.3.10-1ubuntu3.2 with Suhosin-Patch mod_ssl/2.2.22 OpenSSL/1.0.1 configured -- resuming normal operations
Additional Information | There is no solution yet. If I reset the calendar cache, Thunderbird closes and restarts and reloads all calendar data without errors, but on next restart, the same error occurs again.

This is probably not a bug with SOGo but with your installation. Do you have any sogo log file with this? |

No, this is definitely not an installation issue. There are no problems on 4 iOS devices nor on my Mac or a second Thunderbird client. Also the web interface is working for all parties perfectly. The problem occurred by updating to the version shown above. The basic installation has not changed and all had worked before updating. Last update also update many SOPE packages as well. |

I have done further testing this morning.
So in my opinion this does not look like a configuration issue, does it? ;-) Here are the package versions: ii libsope-appserver4.9 4.9.r1664.20120711 SOPE application server libraries dpkg -l | grep sogo Uploaded sogo.log with debugging enabled: sogod LDAPDebugEnabled YES |

Not pretty sure, but I found some threads concerning event race conditions. I found out that this might be a conflict between iPad and Thunderbird and I have set sogod SOGoiPhoneForceAllDayTransparency YES After that I exported all addresses and events, killed the soho user with soho-tool and reimported all data and at least for today, the error messages are gone. If this is the source of the problem, it still would be great, if Thunderbird would give a better error message than this stupid MODIFICATION_FAILED. Please leave that bug open at least for some days and let me see, if the steps I did solved it forever or if the problem returns in nearer future. Thanks |
