I made a quick and dirty test updating the max version in the rdf file.
SoGo-Connector installs !
All menu entries are there, but the communication to the server does not work anymore.

Something changed in thunderbird 5 concerning password check?
The server does not contain any entry that the client tried to contact the server using synchronize ....

As far as I can see with wireshark, there's no communication at all. SoGo-Connector doesn't even try to request anything from the server.

I am (and for what I know quite a lot of other people are too) really missing the Connector for the recent version of Thunderbird. Any chance that somebody takes up the work on this?

I am also really hoping for a fix for Thunderbird 5.

Now it's very very urgent for us, i can't force my customer to remain on tb 3 :-(
Someone update it automatically, disabling sogo

There is a bug entry in bugzilla that aims to get native CardDAV support in Thunderbird.

I can imagine, if we all vote for that feature (you have to register with bugzilla) this might get the attention of Thunderbird developers and they integrate CardDAV support in one of the next releases of Thunderbird.

I am just wondering. Is there any tentative date on when we can expect the plugin to be upgraded to TB 7.0? That would help us to plan much better for our current customers.

So the inverse plugins will not be created for Thunderbird 7 at all.

does this mea, the new plugin willbe done by thunderbird ESR ?
i heard about, that there will be no sogo version for 4-7.
but for thunderbird 8.0 there will be a new sogo version.

also the 6 weeks are over, and on ESRside, there is no comment, that they will launch a new "REMOTE ADDRESSBOOK", which will support groupdav.
in my mind, there will be no remote addressbook next 6 month, because it seems to be, that noone is working on it ...
so,my last hope is, that sogo will support the tb8 :(
otherwise i have no idea to sync via carddav server any more .... ;(

ESR ...what i read is, that we can calculate to lost syncing very long time the addressbook.
so, in my mind there are 3 cases ...
a) going back to tb 3.1(not sure, if this is so easy, because a lot of user did the auto-udate ..

b) searching for a complete alternative solution

c) pray & waiting ...

last praying from thunderbird version 2 to 3 needs 1 and a half year ...
So it would be nice to have an idea from the developers what is the plan ...

after fudging the max_version so that 107 will install on thunderbird 7.0.blah.. I get the following message in the error console:

Does that help at all in figuring this out? It would be nice to get this fixed, as I think I'll have better luck stapling Jello to the wall than I would waiting for the mozilla team get anything going.
